Aims of the NESA

 

1. Revise existing surgical procedures and hospital organisation:

  • Rationalize and optimize the patient's stay in the hospital
  • Revise the indications for surgical procedures
  • Secure the correlation between indication and planned procedure
  • Re-evaluate each single step in surgical procedures

2. Introduce new surgical procedures and quality standards:

  • Propose optimized surgical procedures
  • Promote surgical quality standards and consensus documents

3. Transfer knowledge and know-how:

  • Initiate and promote interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Coordinate exchange programs for physicians
  • Transfer knowledge and know-how to countries with limited resources
    in collaboration with international organizations
