About NESA
The New European Surgical Academy (NESA) was founded in 2004 as an initiative of leading surgeons from different disciplines in order to:
- re-evaluate existing surgical procedures
- optimize and rationalize them where necessary
- introduce new surgical procedures and ideas
- share and transfer the gathered know-how to countries with limited resources
The following disciplines are represented in the academy:
- general surgery
- otolaryngology
- urology
- obstetrics and gynaecology
- anaesthesiology
The NESA has cooperation agreements with the following institutions:
- The Clinica Mediterranea (NESA teaching department)
- The Dansk Kirurgisk Selskab (DKS, Danish Surgical Society)
- The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe (DGGG, German Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology)
